Meet Sally
A mom of four young children, Sally enjoys mixing play with housework as she takes care of her family. But for many years, she and her children spent hours of their days walking to a local well to collect the water they needed to survive.
Sally is one of the 52 million people Water.org has empowered with access to safe water and sanitation.
Sally and her family needed a long-term solution. With a small, affordable loan from Water.org’s partner in the Philippines, Sally installed a water tap in her home. Now, her kids can go to school, and Sally can focus on the things that matter most, like laundry, meal prep, lots of hugs, and an occasional game of tag.
Our founders: Matt Damon and Gary White
More than a decade ago, Matt and Gary worked independently to help break down barriers between people in need and access to safe water. A common goal to pioneer smart solutions to the water crisis brought them together, and their combined water and sanitation expertise and star-power have allowed Water.org to emerge as a leader in the water and sanitation sector.
